Claudio Fasoli, saxophonist and composer, presents Next, a project in which electronics has big space. After the period of strong interest for various types of trios during the mid-90s, Claudio returns to reconsidering the quartet as a group and reference sound.

With Simone Massaron on electric guitar, the acoustic backing of Tito Mangialajo Rantzer’s double bass and Stefano Grasso on drums, NEXT offers compositions in which “noise and electronic clouds overlap” with the sounds of Fasoli’s sax, always looking for new musical paths.

Composer and teacher, member of the Perigeo, the saxophonist has collaborated with Lee Konitz, Kenny Wheeler and Giorgio Gaslini.

Among many concert and recording collaborations, we remember Lee Konitz, Mick Goodrick, Manfred Schoof, Kenny Wheeler, Tony Oxley, Daniel Humair, Nasheet Waits, Ralph Alessi, Justin Brown and also with Mario Brunello and Giorgio Gaslini.

In the 70s he was a member of Perigeo, one of the most famous experimental jazz groups. He teaches at the Civic Music School “Claudio Abbado” in Milan. His most recent CDs are: “NEXT”, “Haiku Time”, “Selfie”, Abeat records. In 2018 he was elected Musician of the Year.

Claudio Fasoli’s Innersounds, a documentary film dedicated to him by director Angelo Poli, and Spaces, by Alberto Nacci, have received prestigious awards. His book “Inner Sounds“, Agenzia X Edizioni, has reached its second edition.
