When Tia Fuller, artist, composer and bandleader, takes her saxophone, something extraordinary happens.
Combining technical brilliance, melodic creativity and executive precision, the result of her academic and stage experience, Fuller is a force in the world of jazz, pop, R&B and more.
Currently, Fuller is in balance between the world of performance and education, performing a challenging activity both as an artist engaged in touring and recording, and as a full-time lecturer at the Berklee College of Music in Boston.
Fuller’s record makes her particularly qualified for these roles.
The native of Denver, Colorado, graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Spelman College in Atlanta, GA, and summa cum laude with a Master in Pedagogy and Jazz Performance from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
Already established as a prominent jazz musician, Fuller was chosen as a member of the all-female band on tour with pop star Beyoncé.
Her most recent album, Diamond Cut, received a Grammy nomination in the Best Instrumental Jazz category.
In 2020, Fuller inspired the saxophonist character in the Walt Disney/Pixar animated film Soul dedicated to the world of jazz.
