Musical versatility, a fabulous voice and great performance flair, combined with an amazing stage presence and an infallible feeling for the moment – these features define Washington D.C. native jazz singer Lori Williams. Lori’s unique voice enchants her audiences, transporting them into another world and touching their hearts. As she masters and interprets many facets of jazz, her voice is among those most in demand in her country. Not only is she a remarkable jazz, soul and gospel singer; but also a talented musical actress, vocal music educator and composer. As a performing artist, Lori was nominated for a 2014 Helen Hayes Award as an Outstanding Lead Actress in a Resident Musical for her role as Ella Fitzgerald in “Ladies Swing the Blues: А Jazz Fable,” which had a highly successful run in the USA. Lori and her band ofoutstanding musicians have developed a programme that spans a wide range – from traditional to modern jazz. She is complemented by virtuoso saxophonist Bernhard Wiesinger and by Christian Havel, one of Europe’s leading jazz guitarists. The dynamic Slovenian pianist Renato Chicco lived for a long time in New York City, where he played with a “who’s who” of well-known artists in the international jazz scene. The band’s rhythmic backbone comprises Joris Dudli on drums and Milan Nikolic on bass. They have been playing several tours together accompanying jazz giants such as Benny Golson, Vincent Herring, Jeremy Pelt and many more. The band met each other a couple of years ago at the international jazz clinic in Poysdorf, Austria. From that time on they have toured together and recorded a CD (13.03 Thirteen “O”-Three”) under Christian Havel’s name. A phenomenal singer and five superb musicians are ready to sweep you off your feet on an exciting musical journey through the wonderful world of jazz.
